Community Spirit

As I read an article in The Herald this morning about another clean up project in Sharon, it really warms my heart to see people pulling together to return our valley into the grand place it was in the past century. I feel fortunate that we have a beautiful town to reside in with very little blight to speak of. We do however, have several unoccupied homes in town which may need some TLC. As good weather comes (okay so it hasn't been so great this Spring), the grass will need to be mowed and debris removed. This unfortunately overwhelms our Street Department at times, especially this year when they are in overdrive trying to finish our water line project. The community spirit that I revel in here in Sharpsville can spill over into helping out our neighborhoods. If we're unfortunate enough to have an empty house next to us or on our block, talk to your neighbors about helping to keep the lawn and areas looking good. A little extra effort can go a long way to help maintain a hometown that continues to give us pride.

Welcome

Welcome to my blog and thanks for reading.  Now that spring is closer than ever, I'm excited to get many projects started (and hopefully completed), as I'm sure many of you are this time of year. As a member of council, I'm excited about community projects as well. After suffering through a rough winter with even rougher roads, we're all ready for a break. Our Borough Crews have been working hard all winter to maintain driver sanity and they deserve kudos! Now they will get the help of professional paving to cover up the remnants of new water lines.  These new lines have put us miles ahead of many communities with aging and failing infrastructures. As we continue projects like this, we will continue to bring our community to the forefront and maintain Sharpsville as the place to call home.
